Ode to MAC Paintpot in Indianwood

Recently, one of my go to eye products reached its expiry. I realized given how popular this product is, I never got around to doing a review on it. Almost every beauty blog has done its review and as I was about to throw it away, I decided to do a mini write-up on a product I have loved to bits over the last two years. It is ofcourse, my MAC paint pot in Indianwood.

My experience of shopping with Cashkaro.com

How would you like to shop online to your hearts content and make a nifty bit of savings in return? You would, right? That is precisely what Cashkaro.com offers its users.
Cashkaro is a cashback and coupons site and they partner with several retailers such as Myntra, Zovi, Freecultr, Foodpanda, Firstcry, ebay or Dominos. You are simply paid to shop from your favourite online retailers as long as you enter their website through Cashkaro.com.
When the folks at Cashkaro.com approached me to review their website, I was initailly a bit sceptical as to what loopholes there might be.  I did a bit of reading and found out that the principle of cashback websites like Cashkaro is startlingly simple. They earn a commission each time you visit the retailer of your choice through their website and then, in turn, they pay a part of that commission back to you.
My experience:
I loved the clean look of the site and after a bit of browsing around, found the navigation of the website surprisingly easy.

Nail Care: p2 Nail Care Oil Review

I take nail polish reviews seriously. Normally, I always wear a base coat underneath my nail polish to protect my natural nails. To review a nail polish, I usually wear it till it chips and I wear it with no base coat or top coat (unless it is a very cheap brand). So, when I ultimately remove the polish, often times, my nails feel dry and need of some TLC. I was on the lookout for a reasonably good nail care oil and during my last trip to Germany, I picked up the Nail Care Oil from p2.

Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel: 503 Denim Dash - Swatch and Review

Today I want to show you a gorgeous matte blue share from the Maybelline Colorshow range.
Product name: Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel: 503 Denim Dash
Product price: INR 75
Product quantity:  6 ml.
Shelf life: Three years

Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel 503 Denim Dash

My thoughts: In the bottle, the nail paint is a beautiful blue with silvery blue shimmer. Once applied on the nails, the paint sets to a lovely matte finish with light blue shimmer. Twue to its name, it gives a denim effect to the nails and I love this paint for it.

The formula is nicely pigmented and you could get away with a single coat but out of habit, I did two coats here for the swatch. It dries fast and the application is easy. The matte effect lasts on me for about two days after which the oils my fingers come in contact with turns the polish to a muted gloss. The shade lasts on me for about 3 days after which it starts to chip.

Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel 503 Denim Dash in two coats

Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel 503 Denim Dash in two coats

Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel 503 Denim Dash in two coats
For this review, I wore this color for four days straight and after removing, my nails were stained blue and felt rather dry. I would strongly suggest wearing this over a base coat. Apart from this, I think it is a highly unusual color - a shimmer matte denim blue and I would highly recommend this shade to you all.

The Good and Bad and the Aby:

The Good:
1. A gorgeous and unusual color
2. Very budget friendly.
3. Pigmented and fast drying.

The Bad:
1. The shade stains and dries the nails so I would recommend a base coat.

The Aby Rant*:
None. I love this polish.

* Aby rant is my personal problems with the product, may not be a negative in general.

Overall verdict: If you are looking for a matte blue, then this is a shade you must look into. I love how the shimmer adds a bit of depth to the matte polish. It is a vibrant yet wearable shade and is sure to make a statement.

Budget Buy: Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Luv Me

This wedding season, it seemed like all my friends were getting married with a vengeance. Every Friday afternoon I would find myself running back from my Lab, grab a quick lunch, catch the first train out and head on home for a weekend of attending wedding parties. For the plates of delicious greasy food I knew I would consume at these events, I had to picked up a long-wearing matte lipstick. Because this was for evening wedding parties, I wanted to pick a dark red color. And because the lipstick had to be a dark red, I knew I wanted to pick up a budget option since I wouldn't wear this color around after the wedding fever was over. So the wide array of the Colorbar Velvet Matte range was a good option and I picked up a lovely deep pinky red shade - Luv Me.
